The fact of the matter is that he's already started to welcome someone else in. Not near as much as this, but enough. Still, rather than offer the proper answer, he simply offers up the mental equivalent of a shrug.

Either way, he's perfectly content to let Xeha take the helm. For now, he'll settle for making sure they don't fall out of the air, or mistime one of the critical flickers that's keeping them from taking as much damage as the might otherwise. He knows his own abilities a lot better than Xeha does, after all and he figures it's better to have a backup in place just in case.
