Important news. [RP scene: Dressing Room continuity] [spoilers]
Meet at simulation room.
There are times in Xehanort's life where he can't help but be verbose. Text messages, however, are not one of them. And a quick note to Braig to let him know that now would be a good time to discuss important matters is not something he feels to be worth a speech.
The room he's sending directions towards is currently set up with bright clear screens and workstations, and to cap things off, a couple of comfy chairs. Once more, he's opting for simplicity over his flair for the dramatic.
Right now, he thinks he needs a bit of comfort behind him.

So a moment later, he knocks on the door. Teleportation is handy, sometimes.]

As the knock comes, he heads over to open it-]
Punctual as ever.
[He gives a thin, sly smile.]
no subject
[And that he is just as willing to not be punctual when the mood strikes him.]
no subject
Make yourself comfortable. Though this shouldn't be a long explanation.
no subject
Ready when you are, then.

As I said, I've finished analysing the readings I took from your heart that time. They've proved very interesting, overall. They seem to be giving us multiple routes we can take...
[He pauses, biting off his own urge to ramble on, and sighs.]
No. I won't make you wait for what I have to say.
You're a potential keybearer.
no subject
Finally, he offers an incredulous laugh. It's almost too much to believe. Him? A potential wielder?]
Guess the old man offered a little more than he thought.

And now he settles halfway into rambling on mode, back into the technical talk that comes naturally - and takes him away from the harder to deal with details.]
His influence is a large part of it, I'll admit. It's provided quite a big boost to everything else; [showing off diagrams] that's his, here and here, but you can see that it's also affected here and here, giving a general increase in strength, especially in the darker sectors as you might expect. Which is a lot of them to say the least.
no subject
Y'know, I can't say I'm really surprised.

As much as I complain about him, I'm hardly going to deny when he did something that worked. [An idle shrug. Complimenting the old man, even in a roundabout way, does tend to leave a slightly sour taste in his mouth.
But it's true enough here. From all he's been able to see, that at least had been a worthwhile gift in its own twisted way. Perhaps not all of it, perhaps not all of what came with it - but this bit.]
It's not all him, though. Here, here - those are strong signatures that I can't trace back to him. And while I don't know if you'd have made it on your own in the past? It's not something that's relevant now. Everything you've done - everything I've seen you do that you haven't as of yet, too [another quick smile, as he thinks on those times] - just adds to that impression. Your heart's strong in its own way.

[It's funny, really. He's gone so much of his life without honest praise of any sort that finally hear that he's done good leaves him honestly unsure of how to feel, even if he trusts Xeha to have it right.]
no subject
[And with an idle smile, he adds-] Especially when the consequences are so important to what I'm doing as well as what you are. In any case, there, you have it. Everything that's happened has left you the latest potential wielder to walk these halls.
How do you feel about that, hm?
no subject
Kinda strange, actually. I mean, I didn't actually expect to, y'know?
no subject
[Xehanort gives a light chuckle, then falls a little quieter.]
It does, however, leave us with a dilemma.
no subject
[And not even the sort of half-listening that he often defaults to, either.]
no subject
At the same time, I did make you that promise.
[One of those rare odd phrasings on his part where it's unclear whether the 'I' refers to his present or past incarnation.]

On one hand, we could proceed as if we never knew this news. We keep working. And I present you with a key designed for you the way we'd always intended.
On the other, we could have you inherit. I can go through with the ceremony with you, or we can find another suitable Master who'd be willing to - I'm unsure who except a very cooperative old man might, however. A key chooses you the way that it normally happens. And I ... alter my techniques.

The issue is that I [and ugh, he doesn't like admitting this] don't know.

You'd be happy to wait, still?
